Post note:
To continue my career in this field, I am currently pursuing a degree in Integrated Mathematics and Computer Science at Ontario Tech University.
With roughly two years of tutoring experience, my approach is to help all students thoroughly understand concepts, rather than just memorize formulas or techniques. I believe that this is a key to long-term success in any subject. To achieve this, I use a variety of teaching methods and resources in my lessons. I also encourage my students to ask questions and actively participate in the learning process, this helps them develop a deeper understanding of the subject and makes the learning process more enjoyable.
Knowing that there are different learning styles, I make an effort to tailor my lessons to individual needs. For example, if a student prefers visual aid, I might use more diagrams and graphs in my lessons, while someone more hands on might require a greater number of interactive activities or problem-solving exercises.
Overall, my goal as a tutor is to share my knowledge and expertise in a way that helps all learners succeed.

It’s time to “Spring” into action for our eighth annual Giant Spring Book Sale! Saturday March 16 from10:00 am to 2:00 pm at St Mary's, 1701 Elgin Road in Oak Bay, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Browse among a wide collection of pre-owned books in excellent condition—thousands and thousands of them, on the shelves, on tables, and in the pews, each with its own story to tell. Plus a now-regular feature: jigsaw puzzles!
We are also excited to have local authors of The Victoria Writers’ Society in attendance to display their own works and meet the public.
While you’re here, enjoy live music, share a cup of coffee or hot dogs or the Archdeacon’s famous pulled pork or vegan sliders from the grill, and a chat with your neighbours.
The Churchmouse Bookshop—which is also open every Saturday, 10am - 1pm—receives good-quality used books from the Greater Victoria community and gives them out to new owners in return for cash donations in support of St. Mary’s charity efforts and partners. In 2024 we continue our support of the Food Bank at St. John the Divine, Threshold Housing, Our Place Society, and more.
So, come and browse the books and enjoy the community. Bring your friends. Bring your children. Bring the dog. Admission is free. Donations of books in advance of the sale are welcome (received on Saturdays 10am-1pm)!

Join us at St Mary’s for a unique blend of exceptional jazz rooted in the context of meditation and prayer. This evening's music will be provided by The Maria Manna Trio. 1701 Elgin Road, Oak Bay.
Evolving out of two ancient services of prayer as the sun is setting—vespers and compline—the service of Evensong is an opportunity to put the events of the past day into perspective, to ground one’s body, mind and spirit in preparation for the restorative night of sleep. Whether you are a seasoned jazz lover or a newcomer to the genre, you will be sure to enjoy this unique and moving experience. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this inspiring and intimate celebration of faith and music. All are welcome!
A collection will be taken in support of this ongoing series.
About the musiciansMaria Manna is a well-known jazz vocalist, actress, and producer highly regarded in the Victoria music community. She has performed with several legendary artists, including Tommy Banks, David Foster, Alfie Zappacosta, and Paul Horn. She is the producer and performer of "Ladies of Jazz, Blues, and Gospel.
Maria established the Maria Manna Bursary at the Victoria Conservatory of Music. She has received several awards for her volunteer performances at numerous charity events, including the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award and the Sovereign's Medal. Maria is the founder of the BC Vocalist Society, co-founder of the Universal Jazz Advocates and Mentors Society, and a former Juno Judge.

We are looking for receipts and coupons.
For the receipts, it’s for a volunteer project that we’re doing. Preferably ones paid by cash and don’t have membership information on them to protect privacy. It would also be given to a day home to be used as arts and crafts.
For the coupons, it’s to be given out to non profits. If you have any to spare, that would be much appreciated. We are looking for anything but the most needed are food, basic needs, baby related and pet food coupons. As of right now, we are mainly looking for ones that expire in December or sometime next year. But if you have any that don’t expire within the next 3-4 months, we accept those too.
If the items can be mailed, it is highly preferred. Thank you everyone who can help out.

Beloved Guardian Angel,
In the gentle embrace of your celestial wings, I humbly come before you, seeking your guidance and benevolent presence. As I traverse the intricate tapestry of life, I implore you to weave threads of harmony and balance into the fabric of my existence.
Guide me through the labyrinth of choices, illuminating the path of equilibrium amid the contrasting hues of joy and sorrow. May I dance gracefully with the rhythm of life, embracing each note of laughter and solemnity with a heart attuned to your divine wisdom.
Grant me the strength to navigate the challenges that lie ahead, and may I find serenity in the face of adversity. Help me cultivate a garden of tranquility within my soul, where the blossoms of patience and understanding bloom, creating a sanctuary of peace.
As I walk the tightrope of responsibilities and aspirations, may your ethereal presence be my steadying force, ensuring that I neither falter nor lose sight of the delicate equilibrium that sustains the universe. May I be a vessel of positive energy, radiating the harmonious vibrations that echo in the sacred halls of creation.
I express my deepest gratitude for your tireless vigilance and unwavering support. Thank you, celestial guide, for the whispers of insight and the nudges of encouragement that have graced my journey thus far. With heartfelt appreciation, I acknowledge your divine companionship.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Good evening, Despite in-person lessons are much better, I'm offering online sessions as well. Look forward to talking with you!
My name is Dearian Seepersad, I'm a Music Teacher, Performer, and Composer. For the last 5 years I've been performing all over the GTA, including: festivals; pride, multi-cultural, afro-fest, private functions, restaurants, bars, and producing my local show while producing tracks for local Toronto artists. This year, I'm building my independent music school from my home studio. (Big Project!) Too often, I hear about beginner students horror stories about learning in the classical vein or the lack of purpose in general lesson plans. My focus is to create a unique lesson plan for each student to maximize efficiency while incorporating my teaching style into the plan. I incorporate musical expression, technique, and theory into each lesson while taking we've learnt and reworking it into something original. Composition being the ultimate goal; as we learn a lot quicker thinking for ourselves. There are no limitations, I've taught and performed in many genres: Classical, Jazz, Rock,Pop,Reggae, Blues, Hip-hop, Gospel, Fusion, the list goes on... So who am I? I'm a 24 year old musician who's extremely passionate about ALL music. - Completed 3 years Mohawk College Applied Music program. - 5 years teaching experience. (Includes leading band rehearsal and performances) - Developed and promoted shows - Constantly studying the scripts of the great classical composers. - Most important: Patient and Understanding. The lessons I'm offering are: Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Recording, and Drums. (Drums taught by another teacher) We will discuss: Structure (Form), Harmony, Melody, Counterpoint, Sightreading and Improvisation while meeting the technical demands of instrument.
Each lesson will be 30 - 45 minutes with the option to have the lesson at your location/home. My rates are fair and negotiable. We all have our lives and circumstances going on; it's okay. Feel free to respond to this ad, call or text: 647-294-0493. (I'm quite busy, if you text the instrument you wish to learn, I'll call as soon as I'm available)
Thanks for reading, I hope we chat soon! "Music is the mediator between the spiritual and sensual life" - Ludwig Van Beethoven.

We have a limited number of spots available in our RV park for summer residents and possibly year-round.
Before you contact us, please read all of this ad carefully.
This is an older adult park. We have no infrastructure for children. There is no playground and no facilities nearby.
This is a quiet adult park that is relaxing, cordial, and free of drama. If you have a lot of visitors and get togethers, this is not the park for you.
Spots are 30amp with water, sewer, and electric (which is metered).
You must be self-contained and use your own toilet and shower. Our facilities are mainly for nightly guests and emergencies in your trailer plumbing. You must have a screw on sewer inlet, not just the type that sit on the sewer.
You must have a newer unit that is visually acceptable.
If you are looking for a nice, clean spot to come on the weekends or stay during the summer, you can park your RV for the summer and pay the monthly rate plus your electric (May 1 to September 30) and then move your RV back home in the fall.
If you are looking for a year-round spot, then we will need to have a longer conversation and get to know each other to ensure you are a fit for our park.
If you have questions, please reach out.
The name of the park is unimportant at this time as is the exact location. We are in the Keremeos area, near the river.
If you are interested in coming in next summer or for year-round, please tell us a little bit about you and your situation.
Thanks!

Looking to start a band. Right now we've got a singer and lead guitar player.
We're looking for a drummer, a bass player (could be a guitar player who switches) and possibly keys.
Have some early stuff that we can share if you're interested.
Our influences range from indie, alternative, pop, punk, and jazz. We're writing originals.
Serious musicians and the singer plays around town regularly.
