My name is Dearian Seepersad, I'm a Music Teacher, Performer, and Composer. For the last 5 years I've been performing all over the GTA, including: festivals; pride, multi-cultural, afro-fest, private functions, restaurants, bars, and producing my local show while producing tracks for local Toronto artists. This year, I'm building my independent music school from my home studio. (Big Project!) Too often, I hear about beginner students horror stories about learning in the classical vein or the lack of purpose in general lesson plans. My focus is to create a unique lesson plan for each student to maximize efficiency while incorporating my teaching style into the plan. I incorporate musical expression, technique, and theory into each lesson while taking we've learnt and reworking it into something original. Composition being the ultimate goal; as we learn a lot quicker thinking for ourselves. There are no limitations, I've taught and performed in many genres: Classical, Jazz, Rock,Pop,Reggae, Blues, Hip-hop, Gospel, Fusion, the list goes on... So who am I? I'm a 24 year old musician who's extremely passionate about ALL music. - Completed 3 years Mohawk College Applied Music program. - 5 years teaching experience. (Includes leading band rehearsal and performances) - Developed and promoted shows - Constantly studying the scripts of the great classical composers. - Most important: Patient and Understanding. The lessons I'm offering are: Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Recording, and Drums. (Drums taught by another teacher) We will discuss: Structure (Form), Harmony, Melody, Counterpoint, Sightreading and Improvisation while meeting the technical demands of instrument.
Each lesson will be 30 - 45 minutes with the option to have the lesson at your location/home. My rates are fair and negotiable. We all have our lives and circumstances going on; it's okay. I am a recording enthusiast who is competent at some elements of recording, but ducking/sidechaining is eluding me. I need someone to come in and sit at my desk and walk me through some ways to duck one music track with intermittent vocals from another. I'm using Reaper but I'd imagine any seasoned DAW user could help. I'm willing to pay for a session. 30yr old male bassist looking to put together a British covers/tribute band.
The aim is to evolve a set list & band that plays British rock/pop. My own personal influences are 60s mod & 90s Britpop, but it would be nice to play a wide variety on the British theme, so I’m open to all suggestions (literally)!
Looking to have a laugh as a Brit who’s recently moved here with previous weddings band experience in England. Practise a bit, commit to a democratically chosen set list, then proceed to play a couple of pubs to see how it goes down live.
Really not looking for egos, rulers, or those looking to break the world with originality. Simply a pub covers band, whose members have a laugh whilst playing a few British tunes.
I believe there to be a niche market for this category of band if the wheels were ever to start rolling… I am confident pub gigs would not be hard to come by for a cohesive outfit.
Song choice should not pose a problem given the cannon to choose from, and the openness of members.

The studio has a great collection of microphones for any application. The flagship Telefunken ELA-251 M has an incredible sonic presence and is known as “THE VOCAL MIC”. Then there is the Neumann U-87 ai that sounds great on anything. The Neumann TLM 103 and two Neumann KM-184's are all fine microphones. ( NOTE: this is a date change for this month ONLY to avoid conflicting with Valentines Day)Join the Barrie Folk Society, a not-for-profit organization that cares about the growth and nurturing of the folk/roots music movement in our community, as they share their passion for acoustic music. Listen to the sound of live music or bring your instrument and play your favourite tunes in an “OPEN STAGE” format.
Different from the event at the downtown branch, the format for this event will be an “OPEN STAGE” event for acoustic musicians. Each performer (solo or groups) will have the opportunity to take the stage to perform a three-song set (of no more than 15 minutes). This is intended to be an opportunity to get comfortable performing in front of others or to see how an audience responds to your original material.
The event will run on the second Wednesday of the month from 6-830 pm and sign up time will begin at 5:45 pm. There will be 10 guaranteed spots. At the conclusion of the 10 performances the host will apportion the remaining time available between those that have not yet performed and/or give others a chance for extra songs.
Members of the community are encouraged to come out and be part of our audience and enjoy an evening of musical entertainment for FREE!

I'm kind of a ringer. Can fit in in a lot of settings. Excellent theory knowledge to create working basslines, song arrangements, lyrics. Can groove really well. Lots of free time to schedule in jams, rehearsals, gigs. I'm 41, into lots of genres and have my own solo acid jazz guitar project out on streaming. Looking to play bass in more marketable genre though.
