Good day,
I'm looking for interested persons to collectively create an original music project. I'm leaning towards a more raw / artsy endeavor. Currently inspired by bands such as...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of The Dead, Sonic Youth, Dead Moon, Arcade Fire, Dinosaur Jr., and on a real 60's garage rock kick lately.
I play guitar and attempt to sing. I'm thinking a second guitarist, vox (singer), bass, drums, and keys (organ / piano synth).
I also love to riff rock as well, Zeppelin like and have no issues going that direction.
NOTE : I'm 50 years of age but want to embrace the feelings I felt when I started jamming and playing shows in my late teens and 20's, hence my current musical interest.

31 year old guitarist out of Belleville looking to either join an established band or start one. I play a lot of different styles and I'm pretty technically proficient at playing both guitar and bass, as well as composing. I play drums as well but current don't have a kit set up so I haven't practiced in about two years.
Some of my influences include Protest the Hero, King Crimson, Martyr, The Faceless, Archspire, old Veil of Maya, Between the Buried and Me, The Acacia Strain, Meshuggah, Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza and The Dillinger Escape Plan. I'm also a big fan of all sorts of rock, punk and whatnot.
Preferably I'd like to play some sort of subgenre of metal or hardcore, but at the end of the day I'm open to just about anything.

I posted this a long time ago and all I got were offers for guitar lessons and people who wanted to practice for weekend gigs. That is NOT what I am looking for!! I have tinnitus, vision problems and memory issues, so I want to avoid learning anything complicated. What I want is to FEEL the music again...that rush you get from jamming out with like-minded musicians.
I'm old and my skill level is quite basic at this point. I can play simple bass and rhythm guitar for the enjoyment of it. I enjoy a wide range of musical styles, so I don't care what genre we play as long as it's fun....rock, blues, metal, country, folk, bluegrass....it's all good to me! I can jam the range of Wagon Wheel to Enter Sandman...we can even combine songs for interesting results, if you are so inclined...lol
I live in the South Shore area, and not looking to do any city traveling, so prefer the local area. Let me know what you have in mind, thanks!
