Our After School Program operates throughout the school year in Edgewater Elementary School. The After School Program Manager & 1 Staff will work part-time, up to seventeen hours per week, Monday to Friday on a flexible schedule.
As a manager, you will be a dynamic leader with expertise in Early Childhood Education focused on developing the growth and quality of our Out of School Program. You will work closely with the Board and Leadership team of WVCCS to create a rich environment for children, families and staff to reach their full potential . You will support the training of new staff, maintaining excellence in all areas of managing and leading your program, including planning supervision, safety, licensing and community building.
The after- school program will operate at Edgewater School Monday to Thursday from 2:30-5:15 and Friday 12:30-5:15 on school days. There will be full days 8 hours a day on Pro D Days Spring Break 2 weeks Monday to Friday ( March 18-28), 4 weeks in the Summer ( July 15-August 12) and Winter Break ( Dec. 30-January 3 )this year.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Create a welcoming inclusive , safe, respectful , environment for all students.
2. After School Program will require adults (1 or 2) to students ( 0 or 20 ) ratio
3. Work collaboratively to plan , implement and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
4. Manager will complete the required reports and submissions.
5. Communicate with Principal and teachers at participating elementary schools.
6. Answer questions from parents and guardians.
7. Other duties are required.Qualifications and Attributes:
-Minimum 19 years of age
- Completion of the Responsible Adult 20 hour online course prior to start date.
- A valid Child Care First Aide Certificate
- A clear Criminal Record Review, complete prior to hiring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Proven organization and planning skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of parents, children , volunteers , professionals, and community members
- A class 5 drivers license

- Maintain, repair, and test electric or electronic systems and components on the mobile maintenance fleet
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on mobile mining equipment in a shop or a field environment
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician Certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Familiarity with reading electrical schematics, prints and working knowledge of the Electrical Code
- Previous experience in an industrial environment is an asset

Position Overview:
Apex Power & Automation has an opportunity available for a Journeyman Industrial Electrician. You will work as part of the maintenance/construction team to ensure that all mobile/plant equipment is maintained and managed to the highest degree of reliability in a safe and effective manner. The typical shift is a 4 day 10 Hrs/Day week plus travel to the different mine sitesPrincipal Accountability:
Electrical/Automation Construction Projects or various sizes
Perform predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance on facility assets or mobile equipment
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance inspections on critical equipment
Troubleshooting Skills are a must.
Installation of new equipment and cabling
Participate in meetings, training activities, and the site safety program
Qualifications:Required:
Possession of Inter-provincial Journeyman Electrician Certificate
Minimum 2 years’ experience within an industrial maintenance environment
Must be willing to work from heights and in confined spaces
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Basic knowledge of industrial safety with an absolute commitment to safety
Strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills, good written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and organizational skills
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis
Preferred:Experience in the mining industry
Experience with wireless communications, or radio networks
Knowledge of soft starts and variable frequency drives
Experience with PLC’s and reading logic drawings
Potentially able to move to the Elk Valley in Southeastern B.C
