I am a 49 year old woman, in a wheelchair, almost fully paralyzed (both arms and legs).
I am nonverbal, and use a computer device to communicate (typing with my eyes). I also use body language, spelling and language shortcuts, posters and labels. I am 5'2 (160cm), and about 90 lbs (41kg).
I live with my husband and 3 school age daughters.
Help is needed with all daily activities.
I am looking for a female caregiver for a few evening/afternoon shifts per week to take care of me and the house.
This is a commitment to me and my family. This is not a job where you can just pick up a few shifts.
It will take a couple months for you to learn how to understand me and to get used to my routine. I am looking for someone who will stay with me for at least 1 year, hopefully longer.
Salary
$21 - $25 per hour (based on your experience)
Schedule
4 afternoons /evenings 2pm - 9pm
every other Saturday and Sunday, 2pm - 9pm
Possibility of some additional shifts.
Location
Private home on Fortye Dr, Peterborough, near Fleming College.
Duties:
Kitchen cleanup after dinner.
Some food preparation for the next day (mainly meat).
Giving me water ( through a feeding tube ), special soup ( using a cup ), and sometimes spoon feeding me.
Brushing my teeth and washing my face, sometimes a sponge bath while I am sitting on the toilet.
Changing my clothes.
Doing my laundry.
Putting me on the toilet and to bed (pivot transfers).
Requirements:
Physical strength to lift me from my wheelchair and the toilet.
Attention to detail.
Strong common sense.
Maturity to handle the tasks mentioned above.
Ability to follow written instructions.
Training will be provided.

We are seeking a part-time superintendent who has a flexible schedule to manage a 37 unit apartment building in downtown Peterborough. We are looking for someone who lives close to the downtown core or would like to live in. ~ 10 hours/week. We are looking for someone who is organized and is a handyman, able to assess the issues, do small repairs or contact contractors to resolve the issues. This person must be able to use a smartphone and software program to handle tickets and address them accordingly.
Management:
-Supervise cleaners to ensure a high level of cleanliness and identify areas for improvement
- Check exterior of building to collect refuse and debris, identify security and potential maintenance issues
- Check entire interior of building to identify security, tenant and potential maintenance issues
- Shovel snow and salt patio and points of egress as required to prevent slip and falls
