Do you have a smart phone? Do you love nature - animals, plants, birds, flowers, trees, forests?
The Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. need nature volunteers to download the iNaturalist app on your smart phone, and go for a walk through either urban regional park; Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area or George Genereux Urban Regional Park.

https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/genereux-park-eco-questWe can set up a zoom, skype, or facetime meeting to get you started, or we can meet you out there (with facemasks and social distancing), and let you know how you can help out. These greenspaces located inside the south west area of Saskatoon need an ecological assessment and any person with any skill level can help! You just use your phone to take pictures on iNaturalist! Easy peasy! It is a great way to learn about nature! A great home-schooling project! What will you find? It is like a Where's Waldo Treasure Hunt, but it is finding plants, and animals of any size, shape, and color! You are invited to come to the park as many times as you are able, different times of the day, different seasons, it would be wonderful to find out what other volunteers discover! We will also help you learn how to be eligible for prizes!

Dog Runner and/or Walker needed for an energetic 18-mo-old puppy. I am a 73-year-old woman who is unable to walk or run this energetic puppy. If you are a dog lover and a runner, this puppy can run faster than any human, but will keep to your pace. So if you need an exercise buddy, this puppy and I would be most grateful. I am requesting a volunteer, please. The poor little guy is so bored and just wants to run and play. He is a very friendly, lovable dog. See photo below. I live in Lawson Heights on Lenore Dr near Marion Graham Collegiate.

We are conducting an online research study to better understand how social distancing is impacting people’s mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. While isolated from others, many people are using smartphones to keep in touch and engage with others. With the use of a special app, we can begin to understand how people are saying socially connected through calling, messaging, and app usage. Understanding healthy social behaviour during the pandemic can help minimize the negative consequences of social distancing. We are looking for people to join our study!
Who can Participate? We are looking for people who are ages 15 and older to participate in the study. You do not need to be diagnosed with a mental disorder to participate in the study. Everyone is welcome!
Will you be reimbursed for your time? Participants will receive $40 for filling out the questionnaires and working with our app for one month. We will ask participants to fill out questionnaires again after three months. So, if you complete the study you will receive $60.
Please register using the following link, so that we can send you more information about what it will mean to take part in the current research study: www.covid19-prosit.info
A staff member from our research team is available to answer any questions you have about the study at our toll-free number 1-833-905-0314 or by email at PROSIT@iwk.nshealth.ca

Study Title: How do you feel about Covid-19?
Eligibility Requirements: Seeking individuals who are 17 years or older who can read and write well in English to partake in a two-part study.
Study description: The objective of this two-phase study is to examine the relationship between personality characteristics and life circumstances on coping responses to the 2019 Coronavirus (Covid-19). For phase 1, participants will complete an online questionnaire. The online questionnaire will ask questions about participants’ current life circumstances (e.g., employment status and type, how they are currently affected by Covid-19), their mental health status (e.g., anxiety, depression), how they cope with negative life events or challenges, and how they feel about the future. The second phase of the study will consist of completing daily online expressive writing activities for fourteen consecutives days. Participants will be asked to reflect on things that occurred earlier that day, while following guides to help them reflect on these events. The second phase of the study will also consist of completing three follow-up online questionnaires (2 weeks, 1 month, and 3 months after completing the writing program). Enrollment in phase 2 of the study requires the completion of the online questionnaire for phase 1. If participants are interested in enrolling in phase 2, they will have the opportunity to provide us with their email address to commence phase 2. This study has received ethical approval by the ethics board at the University of Ottawa.
Duration: The first phase of the study will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. For the second phase of the study, each writing entry will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete with the exception of the first session, which will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Each follow-up survey will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete.
Benefits: The opportunity to engage in self-reflection and learn techniques that could help process and cope with challenges caused by Covid-19.
Compensation: The opportunity to win one of four 50$ money orders. Each writing session completed will correspond to the number of chances you will have to win one of four money prizes in a draw.
Contact: If participants have any questions about our research, they are encouraged to contact the research assistant (Kheana Barbeau, kbarb006@uottawa.ca).

hello there
im curious if anyone out there is interested in superhot peppers.
these would include
ghosts
scorpions
Naga's
and many more.
I grew some last year and few friends really enjoyed them, and I want to expand out a bit to see if there's any hot sauce makers or powder makers out there who want to try something new with some batches I'll be growing, or just to have some in your cupboard like me.
I haven't planted any yet, but I have a few varieties ready to go asap to begin indoors.
I'll be seeding some soon, and I can do a plant or have some peppers ready for others if anyone is interested.
message me and we can share more details
thanks!

PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR RESEARCH IN Leisure, work and retirement
We are looking for people born between 1946-1965 to take part in a study of work and retirement transitions among baby boomers. You do not need to be retired or even planning to retire.
As a participant in this study, you will be asked to participate in an online blog by sharing your experiences and perceptions of leisure, work and retirement
Your participation would involve 4 sessions per year for three years, each of which is approximately two weeks. You will be asked to log on to the blog about 5 times in each session. You can create new posts and/or comment on the posts of others.
If you volunteer to participate, you will be contacted by a researcher to help you set up an account and get comfortable navigating the blog. In appreciation for your time, you will receive a $50.00 gift card annually
For more information about this study, or to volunteer for this study, please contact: Rebecca Genoe Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at 306-585-4781 or Email: rebecca.genoe@uregina.ca

How has the pandemic impacted your health and wellbeing? What has been helpful and what has not been helpful for your mental health?
Researchers from the University of Victoria are participating in a global collaboration to study the psychological impact of the pandemic and lockdown. We are asking people to complete a short questionnaire to better understand how the pandemic is affecting us all and its impact on our day to day lifestyle. We hope to find out what is helpful for people during this time and also what may be causing some people to be affected more than others in terms of their wellbeing.
Can you spare 15 minutes to help? Even if you filled out the 1st wave of this survey (Aug - Oct 2020), please also fill out this NEW 2nd WAVE of our survey! Click on the link to the questionnaire for more information: https://bit.ly/3828qkJ or scan the QR code.
