Living and working on beautiful Manitoulin Island.
Designing exciting, locally focused menus.
Working in a collaborative environment interested in strengthening local food systems.
Monitoring sourdough starters for making naturally leavened bread.
Adhere to Heath and Safety protocol.
Control bakery costs.
Control inventory.
Work between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in events and collaborative dinners/feasts.
Maintain and help create a sourdough bread program and potentially teach others, especially through an Indigenous internship program with a local, indigenous run greenhouse.
Work in developing sourdough pizza program that uses only local ingredients.
Is prepared for early morning, bakers hours.21/hr plus bonuses, plus gas money.

Designing exciting, locally focused menus.

Monitoring sourdough starters for making naturally leavened bread.

Control inventory.
Work between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in events and collaborative dinners/feasts.
Maintain and help create a sourdough bread program and potentially teach others, especially through an Indigenous internship program with a local, indigenous run greenhouse.
Work in developing sourdough pizza program that uses only local ingredients.
Is prepared for early morning, bakers hours.21/hr plus bonuses, plus gas money.

We are currently looking to fill a Welder “B” position. Welder B’s set-up, operate and maintain machinery and equipment. They perform precision welding operations. Strong mechanical aptitude is necessary.
The Welder “B” must have 3-5 years welding experience in a shop setting through on-the-job training or by attending formal welding courses. Preference will be given to candidates with recognized training in welding.
Responsibilities and duties will vary with the welders developed areas of specialization. The Welder B will demonstrate skills in areas such as: disassembly/ assessment/ repair type skills, base metal identification, the determination of optimal tooling, selection of manual or semi automatic welding, sub arc and burning tools, selection of optimal welding machine amp and welding procedures and data sheets, proper use of preheat and post heat, set-up requirements may include part or product evaluations, jig or fixture design & fabrication, and development of set-up documentation.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Strong mechanical aptitude;
• Effective communication & interpersonal skills;
• Secondary school graduate with grade 12 mathematics;
• Experience in the shop setting through on-the-job training or recognized training in welding
