... with Miguel de la Bastide
Miguel is North America's most published Flamenco recording artist and has well over two decades of teaching experience with a track record of professional results. Many of his students have gone on to become performers all around the world. He teaches all levels of Flamenco, as well as many different steel string acoustic styles. All classes are conducted safely through Skype.
Beginners will learn all the basic techniques and all the basic palos (forms) that will allow them to interact with other guitarists. Intermediate students will then learn how to accompany baile (dance) and cante (song), a completely different skill set. Utilizing all the tools (techniques) that are then applied to the knowledge of song and dance, the true knowledge of Flamenco. Advanced students learn more in-depth approaches to accompaniment using counterpointing and polyrhythms. Also at this level, they will have acquired enough experience and knowledge to begin writing their own pieces.

Hello, my name is Neil and I offer electric, acoustic, and classical guitar lessons online and in-person.
I believe 45min is the perfect length for a weekly lesson and a 4 lesson block of 45min lessons is $120 for online or $150 for in-person (I drive to you).
All lessons come with PDF notes and access to a Google drive folder with music files and resources I've prepared.
I require payment in advance to reserve your weekly spot and notice of cancellations 24hrs prior to the start of your lesson. Lessons cancelled late will not be refunded though I can be flexible sometimes with lesson spots so if something comes up check in to see if I can accommodate a change in schedule.
I enjoy a lot of music and am mainly influenced by classical, rock, alternative and folk music but can still be useful in helping learn music outside of those genres.
I include music theory where it is necessary during guitar lessons but ultimately you decide how much theory you want to learn. Theory focused lessons can be arranged.
I have experience with the classical guitar repertoire and program provided by the Royal Conservatory of Music and I am certified level 8 in repertoire and theory. I regularly prepare students for RCM exams and offer special blocks of lessons for students who have booked an exam with the RCM.
You can find my RCM listing here.

Hello Thrillseekers,
I am a Guitar teacher and i have developed a great course particularly designed for beginners and intermediate guitar players. I have a complete understanding of how acoustic as well as an electric guitar works. I teach a broad range of students from age 7-60 years. I tend to make customized schedules for my students so if you have a really busy life I can make a schedule of 10-15 minutes which you can follow and i will assess your playing at the end of the week. There is no easy way to learn guitar but there sure is a faster way to do so. I plan the schedules as per the need of specific students.
First session with me is "FREE" where i understand your goals and explain you the complete anatomy of Acoustic and Electric Guitar. You can come at my place as well to have a feel of Acoustic, Electric and Classical guitar before you buy one if you have not yet. I have helped other students in the past to find a perfect beginner acoustic guitar as well.
I also teach long lost art of Flamenco music. I tend to play popular flamenco rhythms(Rumba), Other complex fingerpicking techniques like Piccado, Tremolo etc. You can get a headstart by learning right and left hand techniques.
-Customised schedules
-9 stages of Beginner Guitar study
-5 Stages of Intermediate guitar study
-From Bollywood to Country/Blues/Rock your choice. At the end of every stage I will test your guitar skills and we will move forward with the next stage to make sure you got the fundamentals right.

Do you want to improve your singing?
Do you love to sing?Would you like to learn how to sing with a stronger more musical voice, and sing amazing songs with genuine passion, so people actually WANT you to sing for them?
My name is Chris and I am a professional singer and a singer teacher and vocal coach in Toronto.UPDATE: I am now offering excellent and effective ONLINE video singing lessons using Zoom.
They work EXTREMELY well, as I will help you to setup your audio and video to get excellent sound, and I can help you with that before we begin.
We will also use a free singing App I co-designed, which is linked below.
Please email me if you have any questions, and I can give you a phone call or Zoom call, and have a quick talk.Email Chris at: chinchillaweb@gmail.com
I have put a lot of info below, for anyone who is interested in reading through all of it! But if you just want to discuss your voice and what I can do to help you, I have a couple of open spots left in the schedule, so just send me an email and we can have a quick talk, and I can hear you sing.
I can also answer any questions you might have.email Chris at: chinchillaweb@gmail.com
I want to mention that I am offering a FREE singing assessment, where I can listen to your voice and pitch, and then discuss how we would go about improving your ability to sing.
What makes the way I teach singing different?
I have worked as a full-time professional singer all of my adult life, singing countless live gigs, National US/Canada tours, concerts, and shows, also studio recordings/TV/film. I have also sung most styles of music professionally, from Top-40 Pop music with live cover bands, to R&B and rock, to vocal quartets, light-classical, choral, musical theatre, jazz, swing, Big Band and many other styles. I didn’t set out to sing all those different styles, it just happened naturally as I was hired on gigs over the years, and I enjoyed the challenge and fun of doing different things musically and vocally.
I have trained formally with some of the top singing and voice teachers in Canada and the US, at the Banff School Of Fine Arts, St. FX University Jazz, Seth Riggs speech level singing training, Royal Conservatory and many workshops and seminars, but at the same time have worked with many amazing professional ‘untrained natural’ singers so I have learned the best of both worlds. What makes my method unique, is that it is based on finding and freeing your own Natural Voice. Without knowing it, most singers imitate singers they hear on recordings, and that can be in any style from pop to classical or rock. But when a singer only imitates others, then their true natural voice is not able emerge, so it will hold you back. Over the years I have learned and developed very specific and rapid techniques to release your own unique voice, unlearn bad vocal habits, and develop the natural vocal strength, flexibility, range and power in your voice. Sometimes you can add many notes to your voice in one session, but of course it takes practice to develop those notes fully. Then once you have found your natural voice, you can still have fun singing different styles of music, but with a solid healthy technique, that will last your entire life.
And putting aside the purely technical side for a moment, what about the artistic and emotional expression of singing? Sometimes when we start to learn more of the technical aspects of singing, we can forget that the entire point of singing is the emotional/artistic expression of music and singing to an audience, and having the people who are sitting there listening you sing have a great time grooving to the music! And yes, even the creative and emotional aspects of singing can be developed and improved in natural and genuine ways.
Some of the areas we will work on are: [of course depending on your unique goals]
• Breathing techniques, abdominal breath support.
• Physical relaxation techniques
• Voicercises to open the ‘vocal mask’ and Vocal Yoga to relax the voice.
• the advanced Deep Yawn technique
• study of Seth Riggs speech level singing training.
• opening up the full range of your voice by connecting to your natural voice projection,
• how to sing a melody (legato, musical tone, phrasing, expression, styles)
• working with vowels and resonance.
• scales for vocal flexibility and pitch-training,• audition preparations for performing arts schools like Westmount Collegiate, Cardinal Carter, Claude Watson School for the Arts.
• Audition preparations for jazz/commercial vocal programs in colleges and universities like Humber, York and U of T.
• preparation for graded Royal Conservatory RCM Examinations.• using new Smartphone Apps for ear-training to sing in-tune.
• live performance training, interpreting lyrics,
• improvising fancy singing ‘riffs’ like the pro’s, how to sing harmonies, Studio singing techniques
• dynamic stage presence, speaking/interacting with the audience with confidence and overcoming stage-fright,
• using film acting techniques and visualization techniques to enhance performance, and many others.
• Microphone technique, how to use a mixer.Update! I am now involved in designing a free App for singers ear-training called “Voice Training – Learn To Sing”. You can view my tutorial video for the App here.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVWPng-VIMgThe App can be downloaded free from Google Play
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.learntomaster.vtlts&hl=en
Also iTunes for the iPhone
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/voice-training-learn-to-sing/id894620096?mt=8Of course the most important thing, is that I will listen very carefully to your individual voice, and work from where you are in your vocal development.
I’ve worked with singers at all levels, from teens who enjoy singing, to working professionals, and also beginners of all ages, which can be very rewarding due to the rapid progress a beginner can make. So age or experience doesn’t matter, as beyond good natural technique, singing is meant to be fun and express music, and in fact the more you enjoy singing, the better singer you will be!I will create for you a specific series of exercises for you to practice each day, if you are just starting then 15 minutes a day is enough, but as you progress you can work up to 1 hour or more each day. The story is true…how do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice!
We will also pick songs that suit your voice, and work on finished public song performance, or prepare for auditions or RCM Examinations, so you can actually get up in front of people and…SING!
I am offering a vocal assessment, (about 15 min or longer if there is time), where we can say hi, I can listen to your singing voice and your pitch, and show you what we can work on together, as well as answer any questions you might have.
So if you are interested, check out a session, to see if it makes sense to you.
All the best, and keep singing! Please email me if you have any questions, and I can give you a phone call or Zoom call, and have a chat.
