Our client is seeking a Shipper to join their team. As a Shipper, you will be part of a growing organization who is an industry leader in food manufacturing in the Amherst, Nova Scotia area.
Job Title: Shipper
Location: Amherst, Nova Scotia
Pay Range: $17.75 per hour.
What’s the Job?
- Check in with supervisor for oven run sheet, shipping memos, adds/cuts. Check for notes from previous shippers/supervisors. Check for coded ahead product already On Trailers. [Job Responsibility 2]
- Determine how many trailers are needed, and how high to stack each trailer [Job Responsibility 4]
- Verify freezer for stock, unload freezer if necessary and count stock and write it down as you unload the freezer. Fill out the Recode Log.
- Take any products that have to be recorded to the wrappers. When wrappers come in, have them take over unloading the freezer and keeping track of stock so you can do up numbers for the production runs by following the oven run sheet.
- Check numbers with wrapping operator for any inconsistencies with the opening stock. Have the wrapping operator correct the opening stock numbers and notify the supervisor.
- Keep up to date with all trailer situations – what is at the dock, in the yard, full of trays/bread, empties, wheels chaulked, etc. Keep track of all products being loaded on each trailer, on floor or in freezer.
- . Make sure all electronic manifests, shipping memos and pre-shipping sheets are being filled out properly. Fill in manifests and shipping memos of the same products going on separate trailers. Keep track of product needed from the Wrappers (How many more stacks needed to fill the order?).
- Record lot information and counts of product going into and coming out of freezer. Confirm that trailers are clean (i.e., glass, wood, etc) and chocked prior to loading.

Overview
Reporting to the general manager, the Wall Panel Designer / Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that wall panels for pre-fabrication are designed and drafted to meet customer requirements and expectations, as well as, monitoring the production process to ensure ‘Quality Control’ and the high service standard goals of the company.
Role Responsibilities:
• Perform quantity takeoffs for wood framing.
• Prepare estimates and quotes for all design projects.
• Receive and process change orders, review with client before approval.
• Prepares preliminary design sketches.
• Use of panel design software to do wall panel layout and design.
• Reviews designs, specifications, alterations, cost estimates and that quality control checks are completed at appropriate stages within the project follow through to final approval.
• Meet with clients and/or engineers to discuss the customer requirements, expectations and budget on all projects as required.
• Ordering of all materials in a timely manner to ensure production remains efficient.Qualifications:
• Diploma or Degree in CET, AET or CMT program.
• Experience with wood framing, estimating, CAD and design software considered an asset.
• Ability to read shop drawings.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work effectively independently.
