Shallow Creek Academy of Hair Design is excited to offer a day camp program this summer!
In this day and age, it's very overwhelming to get into beauty- there's more information than ever online, and it's hard to know where to start when you first begin. It's very easy to fall into the trap of skin care routines that are too grown and unnecessary for your age group, or be convinced by marketing that you need expensive, specific products for self care. As cosmetology professionals, we aim to provide age-appropriate education on beauty trends- and have fun practicing it all!
We recommend bringing a friend (or a parent) as well, so you can do each other's nails or hair! :)
Each topic is 2 days for $100, or you can attend all three topics, a total of 6 days, for $200- that's less than $34 a day!
The hours for each day is 9am-4pm.
Call 226-227-1000 for details or registration!

After a 3 year hiatus, Brantford is reopening its Canada Linc program in July and possibly August.
We have students from France and Spain, age 14-17, arriving to participate in our program this summer. Host families welcome them into their families, provide them with three meals a day, and their own bedroom. Families are remunerated $1000.00 to host a Spanish student for 4 weeks and $750.00 to host a French student for three weeks.
They attend daily English classes and participate in a variety of engaging activities in the afternoons as well as full day trips to Toronto, Niagara Falls, Wonderland and more. We keep our students very busy!
Please email Bonnie Flores (bonnie@canadalinc.com) for more information.
July Spanish: June 29 -July 27
July French: July 8- July 28We look forward to working with you this summer!

We have spots open for more music lovers. Join us!!!
Every Monday morning from 10am – 11:30am, a group of adults in their 40s-70s meet for MUSICKING. We sing, we learn percussion instruments, we talk about musical history, and music trivia, we do basic theory, we learn about notes, rhythms, patterns, and how to write a song and we explore genres such as Jazz, Blues, Country, Reggae, Pop, and Rock and Roll.
We belt out well-known hits and learn obscure songs, we explore artists we have never heard about and we discuss our personal favourites and we play the kazoo, or a Cajon, a ukulele and we have all learned how to play a simple song on the piano.
We learn how to breathe properly, and we laugh, we do a LOT of laughing. We also have written two original songs … one a blues ditty and the other a contemporary ballad with RAP!!!
Our MUSICKING class takes place at the Grand River Community Health Centre, in the activity room, located at 363 Colborne Street. It is FREE to attend and ANYone can join. We’re inviting YOU to come and join us and spend a carefree hour of Musical MAGIC.
If you’d like to join us for NOTES and BEATS and become part of our MUSICKING class, please contact Brad Kidder at: BKidder@grchc.ca
Musically yours,
Joan Minnery – Music Facilitator
Master of Arts, Community Music
