We are two sisters looking to build a tandem coupling unit for our bikes, and need someone who knows how to weld, has the equipment, knows their way around bicycles, and has a mind for troubleshooting.
One of us has become disabled and can't ride a bike on her own anymore. We both love working with our hands and learning new things.
We like the designs of the FollowMe, the Trail-A-Bike, and the coupling tow bar shown in the pictures, but these units are weight rated for children. We're hoping to not have to get a true tandem bicycle, as those bikes fall into the $1200 range, and we would rather MAKE something for less!
This would be an excellent and FUN project for a welder, retired welder, or side project for a student welder, who knows their way around bicycles.
We are located in the Fruitvale area, will pay for your time and materials, and we'll negotiate on a fair payment before we get started :)
