Duties
Core Processes:
• Assist Chief Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager with Estimating Core Processes Implementation in all branches
• Develop new forms, approaches, and ideas to make the department more efficient
• Maintains balances between individual goals and team goals
• Mentors and develops team members to maximize productivity, innovation, and teamwork
• Liaises with other departments within during preconstruction to identify, discuss, delegate, and cost site logistics items
• Follow Kinetic’s Core Processes for all competitive works
• Help train, mentor, and engage junior staff in all competitive and negotiated work tasks
• Draw on previous experience and contacts to create a plan and lead the estimates on all sizes and types of projects
• Devise potential bid strategies for both negotiated and competitive tender projects
• Review final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal submission
• Can create a quick order of magnitude budget for review by department head or other internal clients
• Can create detailed budget concepts based on design team discussions

Education
• Bachelor degree, technologist degree or diploma in Estimating or Quantity Surveying
• Minimum designation - Construction Estimator Certified (CEC) from the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS)
Experience Requirements
• Several years of experience in Pre-Construction, Estimating, and/or related field
• Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) sector of the construction industry
• Must have experience in Sage Estimating, Microsoft Projects, PlanSwift, BlueBeam and ProEst
• Ability to understand and analyse contract specifications, drawings, scopes of works and other construction documents and communicate these in written text and speech
• Must have a strong attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude

Skills/Education Requirements:
- successful completion of high school is required
