Performance Heavy Duty is located in Edmonton's Winterburn industrial area - specializing in maintaining and repairing brake systems, suspension, power train systems, electrical and air systems, and hydraulic systems for commercial diesel trucks and trailers, as well as various pieces of yellow iron.
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic (HET journeyman) to join our team. Candidates MUST HAVE On-road truck/trailer experience. Please only apply if you are willing to work primarily on on-road equipment, with some off-road mixed in.
Common pieces of equipment include semi-trucks (Kenworth, Western Star, Peterbilt, Freightliner, etc), flat deck trailers (Various brands - Super Bs, Lowbeds, HiBoys, etc), Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steers, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Commercial Vehicle Inspections on trucks and trailers as per Transportation Alberta guidelines and requirements.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct inspections, repair, and maintain brake systems, suspension, power train, electrical, air, and hydraulics on diesel trucks and equipment, and commercial transport trailers.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex problems and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each piece of equipment.
- Assist in heavy lifting and moving of machinery when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs and timelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heavy equipment technology.
Requirements:
- Journeyman Certificates: Heavy Equipment Technician (HET), Heavy Duty Truck & Transport, Heavy Duty Transport Trailer
- CVIP Technician License (We will help obtain your license if you do not have one)
- Proven experience as an ON-ROAD Heavy Duty Mechanic or similar role.
- Ability to provide 2-3 references
Job Pay & Benefits
- Journeyman base pay $50/hr - Wage negotiable depending on experience and work performance (Between $50 - $55/hr)
- Coveralls provided
- Extended health, dental, and life group benefits plan (after 3 months)
- Overtime pay
Hours
- Monday - Friday
- 8:30am - 5:30pm
- Opportunity available for evening/weekend OT hours on a per project basis

I am a very good trainer, and this work does not take very much skill can also teach you how to back up a trailer. Job description: Bricklayers, helpers and subcontractors with proven experience in new builds ,renos , repairs, restoration, and skilled in all aspects of masonry construction. We are looking for experienced paving help for the upcoming 2025 season. Skid steer operators(H-Pattern Control), Raker-man/woman, Breakdown roller operators, Finish roller operators and Laborers.
Class 5 license with air, as well as experience pulling a trailer would be an asset.
