Sublime Stables is looking for a full time live in farm maintenance worker. We are a premier Equestrian facility located just North of Devon AB.
The farm maintenance worker is responsible for keeping agricultural infrastructure, grounds, and machinery operating safely and efficiently. Key duties include repairing equipment, maintaining farm buildings, servicing irrigation systems, and performing general upkeep of the property.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance: Service and repair tractors, harvesters, utility vehicles, and implements. Perform routine checks like oil changes, fluid level checks, lubrication, and parts replacement.Infrastructure
Upkeep: Repair and construct farm buildings, barns, fences, gates, and animal enclosures.Irrigation & Plumbing: Monitor, repair, and maintain irrigation lines, water pumps, and drainage systems.
Grounds & Landscaping: Manage weed control, mowing, driveway grading, and general aesthetic upkeep of the property.
Safety Compliance: Identify and resolve safety hazards, and ensure all tools and machinery meet workplace safety standards.
Qualifications & SkillsMechanical Aptitude:
Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical, and diesel/gasoline engines.
Tool Proficiency: Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and light to heavy farm machinery.
Physical Stamina: Capacity to perform strenuous physical labor, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Problem-Solving: The ability to troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and implement quick, effective repairs.
Experience with heavy machinery, welding, carpentry, or mechanics is highly advantageous.Prior hands-on experience on a farm or in a similar trades/maintenance role is highly preferred.
Valid class 5 driver's license is required

• Fleet maintenance and repair (trailer);
• Perform preventative maintenance;
• Perform trailer CVIP Inspections;
• Work with drivers to understand their concerns and properly diagnose any issues;

• Assist other technicians;
• Work with Fleet Manager to plan jobs;
• Organize and maintain shop;
• Write and manage work orders.Required Education / Skills / Qualifications:
• Licensed Trailer Technician;
• Clear communication (written and verbal);
• Trailer CVIP License is an asset;
• Welding and fabrication experience is an asset;
• Valid Class 5 with good driving record (Class 1 or 3 an asset for on road diagnostics);
• A demonstrated willingness to get the job done right, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude for following procedures and asking questions and working safely;
