Hi, my name is Sharon. I am a professional award winning piano and theory teacher. I have two diplomas, a Pianoforte-Performer and a Pianoforte-Teacher. I graduated from Western Ontario Conservatory of Music. A conservatory specializes in the performing arts.
For over 25 years, I am an active certified member of Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Association. The associations rely on teachers. They fulfill its mandate of the quality. A good foundation is essential to the study. I teach beginners through advanced for kids and adults.
I have 3 pianos, a console, professional studio upright, and a medium grand. You need a grand for the proper action. It is a benefit for the student to play a different piano. My studio is private with no distractions.
You need proper gear and instructions to play a sport. You need the same to learn how play a piano.
My home studio is located at 107 Olympia Pl.

Voice Lessons in Thunder Bay!
I am excited to start off 2023 singing and working with new students who are eager to discover, develop and refine their own artistry.
As a graduate of Sheridan College’s Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program and with over 14 years of voice training, I specialize in music theatre performance (storytelling through song, exploring text and music, process driven work, and creating a personalized approach to each song) and vocal technique (singing healthily, safely, comfortably, finding vocal freedom and support, creating colourful, rich, dynamic performances that feel connected and authentic to you and your voice).
Over my years of training, I have worked with and continue to work with the kindest, wisest, and most supportive voice teachers who I am so thankful for. I recognize and value the importance of having teachers who inspire and support their students. As a teacher, my primary focus is to uplift my students and provide a supportive environment to learn and grow.
Currently, I will be offering in-person lessons/coachings in Thunder Bay. As I am also an auditioning actor, this is subject to change to online/zoom lessons as needed. 30 minute, 45 minute and 1 hour sessions are available. This is a great time to work on repertoire for festivals, competitions and auditions for post-secondary programs.
For more details, rates and to sign up for lessons/coachings with me, please email me at ccarlyymartin@gmail.com.

Teaching Philosophy:
I’m a very patient teacher and I love working with beginners. I usually use the Suzuki Method Books, and I also enjoy going through the RCM exam material for those students who are interested in getting certified. For intermediate - advanced students, we work on strengthening technique though scales and etudes (like Kreutzer, Schradieck, Trott Double Stops, Yost Shifting), and I assign pieces based on what I think the student needs. Every lesson is extremely personalized, and I pay attention to your needs/goals. :)I have taught a variety of students, from bright 3 year olds, to studious teenagers, to working adults who are in love with classical music! It has been absolutely wonderful getting to know my students over the years and I have been amazed at the progress that each individual can make. I have had students do things like play in their school talent show, join a community orchestra, host a home concert for their family, get accepted into a music CEGEP program, and even write their own music! What each student does with their new skills is entirely up to them and what matters to them. After all, the point of learning to play music is to express what we have in our hearts! (I know, super cheesy but you'll get used to it. I really love what I do).
Thanks for taking the time to read through all this, and I look forward to meeting you! ❁

I graduated from Western Ontario Conservatory of Music, which is now Conseravatory Canada. I teach Conseravatory Canada and The Royal Conservatory of Music. A conservatory specializes in the performing arts. The focus is the practical learning and performance.
For over 25 years, I am an active certified member of Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Association. The associations rely on teachers. They fulfill its mandate of the quality. Anyone can walk off the street and say; “I am a well qualified piano teacher.” but are not authorized. A good foundation is essential to the study. I teach beginners to advanced for kids and adults.
I have 3 pianos, a console, studio vertical, and a medium grand. I have a private studio so there are no distractions. Parents and siblings may wait in my smoke and pet free rec room. There are many reasons why you need a grand. The action is different. The touch, tone, pedals, key depth, length of the keys, sensitivity,I can go on. It is to the benefit of a student to play on a different piano. We cannot pack up and bring our own pianos to a performance.
There are 4 annual recitals at Hilldale Lutheran Church. The performers are given an opportunity to be a master of ceremonies. Students build up their self confidence, public speaking, and achieve high self esteem. My home studio is located at 107 Olympia Pl.
You need proper gear and instructions to play a sport. You need the same to learn how to play a piano. Contact me at any time.
Thank you.

Hello!
My name is Chris Stork and I am offering online violin/viola lessons to beginners all the way up to advanced players in these strange times. My current students have been making lots of progress through the online classes so I thought I might open it up to the public! Since we all have plenty of time to learn that instrument we have always wanted to learn now.
I have teaching experience through the Northern Vermont University and several years of private teaching. I got my Undergraduate Degree as well as my Masters Degree in violin performance from McGill University in Montreal Quebec. I am now currently working as Principle Second of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Assistant Principle Second with the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra as well as sub with several other orchestras.
I teaching using a mixture of both the Galamian and Suzuki methods which have an emphasis more on guidelines and principals rather than strict rules. I charge 50 for an hour and 30 for half an hour but the first meeting is free just to see if it’s a good mix!
Hope to hear from you soon!
Chris Stork
