Presented by the Vancouver Children’s Choir, the Grand Prairie Boys’ Choir features a fun program perfect for children (How to Eat Fried Worms (2pm), as well as a traditional choral program (3:15pm) exploring themes of power with works by Hubert Parry, Coldplay, Mark Burrow, and more. Two contrasting programs showcase this Albertan choral powerhouse on Canada Day.
How To Eat Fried Worms
lyrics by Ed Eherer, music by Trent WorthingtonHow to Eat Fried Worms is a fun-filled 45-minute staged musical play perfect for little kids of all ages and based on a beloved children’s book that explores which condiment is best for fried worms as Billy, the main character, tries to win an unappetizing bet. Sung with gusto by the unchanged voices (grades 5 -7) of the Grand Prairie Boys’ Choir, this rollicking musical treat is full of wholesome spirited tricks and expressive singing. Enjoy this fun performance in the air-conditioned comfort of Christ Church Cathedral for families downtown on Canada Day. How to Eat Fried Worms starts at 2pm and admission is by donation.

Upon your arrival at the winery, we will head to the beautiful grass area, that has the most amazing view of the vineyard, then let the yoga begin. I Aleena McKinnon with Buddha beats yoga will guide you through a wonderful slow flow yoga class with our toes in the grass and sun on our face.
This class is about relaxing and letting go. We will move very slowly a moving meditation with the breath. Watery, fluid, rhythmic, simple, sweet movements. Then we will move in to ecstatic dance. Falling much more in the yoga and mediation world than nightlife, Ecstatic Dance is a way for people to move their bodies, enjoy amazing music, and find community in a space that is welcoming of all types of people. Roughly speaking, a good Ecstatic Dance will often present several peaks or waves of emotion that can be experienced as a “birth and death” cycle. The music will almost always start at a low volume, energy and tempo range as people wake up their bodies. As the tempo and energy increases, there is usually an ecstatic moment of catharsis, with the group peaking in energy and movement together. After that high point, the energy subsides back down to a resting place that becomes focused more inward. Let go and be FREE!!!
Felipe was born in Colombia and started his music experience when he was young and introduced by his family. The multi-genre music production became a staple for Felipe's career with sets including sounds from healing world bass music to a wide range of dancefloor oriented electronic music. His live shows have quickly gained traction with the infusion of the live guitar performance, And as DJ allowing him to tap into multiple dimensions and aspects of Music. Felipe is passionate about creating spaces for healing, creating ecstatic dance flows and wellness retreats and multi-platform art showcases.
•Yoga & Dance 10:00 to 11:30 am followed by mimosas or a non alcoholic beverage of course.

I’m so excited about this one!! I have collaborated with Spirt Ridge Equestrian. We will start our afternoon of by walking though the farm seeing some beautiful animals. We will walk to the forest and then let the yoga begin. I Aleena McKinnon with Buddha beats yoga will guide you through a wonderful yin yoga class with our toes in the grass and sun on our face. After the yoga they will bring in the horses while Aleena guides you through a horse mediation.
Horses are extremely sensitive animals, and they realize and understand when we use our breathing to communicate with them. When we meditate, and slow down our breath to a steady rate, we can calm down our judgmental mind and find ourselves at peace with the present moment. It's here that we can then experience the magic of the horses responding to us. That’s when they tune in to our mindful energy, and a connection is created.
By sharing this meditation time together, and doing nothing but focusing on the here and the now, we open the door to mutual deep connection and understanding. Meditation with horses helps us to become centered, have a clear mind and become focused, where worries and concerns fall away.
Our equine meditation is for everyone: Anyone who is open to try something new and wants to participate in a truly powerful meditation, to connect with animals as well as like-minded individuals. Join a heart-centered circle with the potential to create a profound state of bliss, and enjoy serenity, peace and healing joy. Everyone who enjoys this intimate experience will leave feeling relaxed, connected and refreshed.

Fairness for Children Raised by Relatives is happy to announce the venue for the Aging and Kinship Care Gathering on Saturday, June 10th, and Sunday, June 11th. We invite you to join us at the beautiful Thompson River University Conference Centre in Kamloops.
To ensure this event is as accessible as possible, we have secured some grant funds. This means, if you are a kinship caregiver living anywhere in BC, this event is FREE to attend. We want to be able to celebrate all of you and the hard work you do day in and day out, taking care of your kinship care children.
Accommodations will be at TRU and will be shared, thereby allowing us to cover those costs for those traveling to the event. We will also be able to provide limited travel and childcare subsidies.
We are currently in the process of confirming our first 20 pre-registered attendees and space is limited, so register ASAP.
Be part of a weekend filled with learning and networking as we support each other — working together to improve the lives of grandparents and others raising a relative’s child in British Columbia.
Once we receive your registration, we will send a confirmation requesting information related to your needs.FIND OUT MORE and REGISTER
