NorthWest Wood Treaters LP, a wood treating plant, is part of the CanWel Treating Division, which is under the CanWel Building Materials Group Ltd.
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Millwright is responsible to ensure that the plant and equipment are running in a safe and proper manner with the goal of keeping downtime to a minimum by trouble shooting mechanical problems, replacing or repairing defective machinery as soon as possible. The Millwright ensures that all company objectives and environmental standards are met.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
• Ensure equipment is maintained in proper condition to meet quality, productivity, and reliability expectations.
• Identify opportunities for safety, quality, and reliability improvements. Communicate the improvements to management with an action plan for implementation of improvements.
• Conduct periodic inspections, completing preventative maintenance requirements, identifying and repairing or replacing faulty or suspect parts.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose machinery breakdowns.
• Proactively promote a safe work environment, and ensure that all employees are knowledgeable and diligent in carrying out their duties.
• Performs tasks as delegated by management.
• Maintains a clean and organized maintenance shop.
• Attend and actively participate in production and safety meetings.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Technical
• Red Seal endorsement is required
• Minimum two years’ maintenance experience is required
• Ability to work closely with other trades and employees.
• Planer experience is an asset.
• Supervisory experience in a production facility is an asset.
